Class Descriptions:
Level 1 Smart Start: Smart Starters. Gently building trust with water and themselves, swimmers will learn the basics of flowing with the water. Floating, streamlining, underwater breathing, jumping in and recovering on their own.
Level 2 Stroke Start: Let's get started into Strokes! Swimmers will learn the streamlined "smarter" way to swim freestyle, lifesaving elementary backstroke, and increasing confidence with the water. Jumping in and recovering to the side will be achieved.
Level 3 Backstroke Plus: Moving up! Swimmers will finish off their elementary backstroke, learn competitive backstroke, swim freestyle the length of the pool, and increase their muscle memory of freestyle. f. It's starting to get fun now! You're getting swim smarter!
Level 4 Breaststroke Plus: Did I hear DQ? Breaststroke is the most disqualified event at competitive swim meets. Why? It is a very technical stroke. This level breaks it down into fine steps and progresses them through the whole stroke. Developing smart muscle memory and breathing patterns for Freestyle and Backstroke continuation. Flipturns included.
Level 5 Butterfly Plus: You got it! It's Butterfly time. It may look hard, but it really isn't. Most kids love it once they get it! Students will learn the progressions of Butterfly, swim an IM (Individual Medley-you'll sound so smart), and learn to flip turn. Deck education on swim team terms: circle swimming pattern, swim clock intervals, flags, sendoffs. Deck diving.
Level 6 Pre-Team: In this level, swimmers spend 45 minutes experiencing a swim team workout. Focusing on improving endurance through increased distance. Individual stroke technique assessments and competitive swim fundamentals. Starts, turns, transitions, finishes, interval workout training. It's a Swim Smart Team!
